7th grade Math 3/19/18 to 3/23/18

This week we will start our Data and Measurement Unit!! We will test on Vocabulary soon so study your words!!

6th Grade Math 3/19/18 to 3/22/18

This week we will start our Data Representation Unit!!  We will learn how to understand dot plots, histograms, and box plots.  We will test on Vocabulary soon so study your words!!

6th grade Math and Academy Week of 3/5/2018

This week we will continue our unit on Geometry with a focus on volume and triangles.  We will review Wednesday and Thursday We should test on Thursday.  

7th grade Math 2/19 to 2/23

This weeks focus is on Experimental Probability and how to use it to predict the outcome of an event.  We will be looking back at equivalent fractions, decimals and percents during this unit.  Students vocabulary can be found on the following link: https://quizlet.com/_20cfzc
Warm-up is due on Friday.  

7th grade Math week of 2/12 to 2/16

This week students will test on the Proportional Reasoning Unit.  We will also begin out Measurement and Data Unit. 

6th grade Math and Academy Week of 2/12 to 2/16

This week we will have three days to wrap up our Equations, Inequalities and Expressions Unit and review.  We will test on Thursday.

7th grade Math week of 2/5 to 2/9

This week we will review and test on multiple representations of linear equations including a table, graph and equations.  Students will test on Thursday. 

6th grade Math and Academy week of 2/5 to 2/9

This week in math we will be exploring one step equations and inequalities.  We will be using algebra tiles to help solve equations and inequalities and we will learn how to graph our solution on a number line.

6th Academy 1-3 to 1-5

Students will practice their skills in proportionality to bake some cookies.  They will modify the measurements of a cookie recipe that makes 4 dozen cookies and change it to 1 dozen.  Wednesday and Thursday  they will calculate the ingredients they will need using a proportion or scale factor, as well as make a plan(using estimation) as to what measuring tools they will need.  Baking day is Friday so they will have two days to figure out what they will do on baking day!  This should be fun!

7th grade Math 1-2-18

Happy New Year!!!
This week we will strive to completely understand the concepts of maps, scale drawings, and similar shapes.  This is a very important concept to understand proportionality!  We will have homework this week to start off 2018!  Please encourage your child to come by to get help after or before school if needed!

Students will be testing Monday and Tuesday if needed.  If they finish they will do an activity where they will solve clues to find a cure to save Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus from the Zombie elves.  

6th Grade Math for 11/13 to 11/17

Monday and Tuesday we will learn about unit rates.  Homework will be assigned and due on Wednesday.
Wednesday and Thursday we will learn about converting measurements in customary and metric units.
Thursday is a Fraction, Decimal, Percent TEST.  STUDY on Quizlet!!
Friday - Students will review the weeks lesson on Pearson Realize and take test on the computer...this is not a test to study for it is used to track their progress and is not for a grade. 

7th Math 11/13 to 11/17

Monday and Tuesday we will learn about measurement conversions between customary and metric units.
Wednesday and Thursday we will learn about constant speed and what it looks like on a graph.
Thursday is a Fraction, Decimal, Percent TEST.  STUDY on Quizlet!!
Friday - Students will review the weeks lesson on Pearson Realize and take test on the computer...this is not a test to study for it is used to track their progress and is not for a grade. 

Week of 11/6 to 11/10

We will have a quiz on Benchmark Fractions, Decimals, and Percents this week.  Tuesday and Wednesday I will be attending the band competition in San Antonio.  Students will be doing a review on rational number operations and Ratios.  They will be doing this in class but if they don't finish it will be homework and due on Thursday.  When I get back we will continue to work on Proportional Reasoning by solving Proportions.  Warm-up is due on Friday.
